anchor links in your navigation:

This is how you can set up and use an 'external link' page to create a link to the embed code element on the same page.
  • Go to 'pages' up top then select 'external link'.
  • Name it whatever you'd like it to show up in your navigation as.
  • Add your newly created link into the 'external link' field.
  • Make sure to select 'OPEN LINK IN SAME TAB'.

image links:

To make an image a link, you'll drag an image element onto your page. Click into it to upload your image. Once the image is uploaded, click into the element again and select 'website URL' then type in the page URL with the #YOUREMBEDCODE added at the end. The link to the anchor on this page is: http://www.helpfulhollie.info/anchor-links.html#anchor.

button links:

For a button link, you will drag the button element onto your page. Click into it to change your button text & style and then choose 'link', 'website URL' and enter that URL to the page your anchor link is on.

text links:

For a text link, you will type your text into the element. Then highlight the text you want to be the link and select the chainlink icon from the text editor bar. There, you'll select 'website URL' and then continue adding in the link to the page the anchor is on with your code word attached. Make sure to click outside of the white box after you add in your URL.

part 1: the embed code element
(aka the anchor)

To set these up, drag an embed code element to the place on the page you want the link to take your visitor to. Then in the embed code element, you'll type something that looks mostly like this:

The anchor text is what you will use to correlate the embed code with the link itself - that word can be anything you want to use. The rest of the html must be exactly as it shows below:
<a name="anchor">&nbsp;</a>

part 2: the link itself

This second part is where it gets a little tricky. You can either have a button, image or text link anywhere on that page that goes to your embed code 'anchor'.
OR
You can set up an external link page in your navigation that takes you to the place on your page where the 'anchor' is.
For my anchor link to the homepage in the navigation on this site, it reads: http://www.feelathomeinyourhome.com/#anchor. The format for this is the URL to the page the embed code element is on then a # and then your word from the html code (anchor), For example, http://www.YOURURL.com/#YOURCODEWORD.

anchor links

With anchor links, there are 2 parts. There is the embed code element on the page - this is where the 'anchor' will drop to when you click on the link. Then there is the link that takes you down to the 'anchor'.

PRO TIP: You will want to set up the 'anchors' before you set up your links.
